The gentleman at the front desk was friendly. Our shower was broken and partially removed with a piece of plumbing sticking up and leaning over with a handwritten sign not to try to use it. The bathroom floor felt unsafe in this area, as though it may give way. There was a tub/ shower on the opposite wall. The full tester bed was gorgeous, although the my husband felt the mattress was a bit worn and lumpy (that could simply indicate a feather topper). I would have toned down some of the red, especially in the crushed velvet of the sofa., but it is still a beautiful room. The first floor architecture was beautiful but unfortunately the furniture arrangement made it overcrowded, as it seemed set up ( probably trying to promote personal conversation groupings) made the flow awkward and overcrowded. Some of the furnishings did not compliment well with the historical period. The ‘leather’ sofas were worn in a very bad way. The center foyer table should be moved to a different area and the tablecloth and artificial flowers removed. (I left that out of the pictures.)This building exterior is absolutely beautiful!!! The restaurant within the hotel was closed at the time of our visit. They have a large billiard room and size of the space in each room make this property a good choice for groups! This BEAUTIFUL property has great potential, but is somewhat of a work in progress! The new owner just put on a new roof and is making repairs (such as the bath) as quickly as possible!

Nice hotel with good rooms. Breakfast is excellent but no other food in the hotel means you have to eat out. Tesco across the road so good for fuel and nibbles.

Visited on the 24.1.23 for 1 night and was really nice, the bathroom needs improving as broken shower etc especially since it’s not cheap to stay here, bar good priced.

We are story tellers by nature. Tourists come to an area because of the stories that intrigue them. We bought cutlery called "Mansion House". The name attracted us, but when we read the back story, we were sold.If I have one complaint about Mansion House Hotel it is that it undersells itself. The history of the house is interesting. It is true that there was a moment of bad management in its past. The hotel is under new management and they have got it perfectly right. Every single member of staff is brilliant. The house is wonderful and we were treated really well. The level of customer service is second to none. The staff are a team who are building the reputation of a Mansion which is stunning to stay in. There are many things which the Mansion will offer in the future, but I think that the staff are steadily building a strong business based on customer service - the Spa and other things will probably reopen when supported by a steady client base.I have one story to tell and that is off a Dram enjoyed in the "Wee Bar". My better half doesn´t like Whisky, but I said, "You have to smell this!". She picked out notes which she and I had not picked out before. A head turning moment.Visit the Mansion House Hotel and tell other your story.
Best stay ever !!! We wanted something special to celebrate our engagement and Mansion House sounded perfect. Comunal spaces are glorious with little gems everywhere that caught our eye. The snooker table was a great fun for us. Our room was beautiful and very clean with a good decoration taste. The staff was beyond helpful and kind from waiters, cleaners and manager. Special mention for the manager. It makes you feel welcome from the first second. Highly recommended hotel. We would give it 10 stars if that were possible. We need to come back again.
